WILL ROOFMELT HARM MY SHINGLES?

IF USED AS DIRECTED, ROOFMELT WILL NOT HARM ASPHALT SHINGLES OR SURROUNDING AREA. 11 YEARS OF TESTING HAS REVEALED NO NEGATIVE EFFECTS.

DOES ROOFMELT HARM MY PLANT LIFE OR PETS?

DIRECT CONTACT WITH UNDISSOLVED ROOFMELT TABLETS MAY CAUSE STRESSING OF GRASS AND CAN BE A DEHYDRANT FOR PETS. FLUSH WITH WATER IF PETS COME IN CONTACT WITH UNDISSOLVED TABLETS. NOTE: ONCE ROOFMELT HAS DISSOLVED IT IS NOT HARMFUL TO PLANTS OR ANIMALS AND IS 100% BIODEGRADABLE.

I HAD 12 INCH THICK ICE DAMS AND ROOFMELT DIDN’T SEEM TO HELP THAT MUCH. WHAT WENT WRONG?

FOR HEAVY ICE BUILD UP WE RECOMMEND CLUSTERING SEVERAL TABLETS IN ONE AREA TO MELT A CHANNEL IN THE ICE DAM WHICH WILL ALLOW TRAPPED WATER TO DRAIN.

WHAT IS THE INTENDED RESULT OF ROOFMELT?

ROOFMELT IS DESIGNED TO MELT THROUGH THE ICE CREATING RELIEF POINTS FOR DRAINAGE. THIS ALLOWS TRAPPED WATER TO FLOW OFF THE ROOF AND NOT CAUSE HARM TO ROOFING MATERIALS.

ROOFMELT BACK LABEL

APPROXIMATELY 60 TABLETS. NET WEIGHT 14 LBS. ROOFMELT IS EFFECTIVE TO MINUS 20 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT.

DIRECTIONS: WHILE STANDING SAFELY ON THE GROUND, TOSS ONE (1) TABLET FOR APPROXIMATELY EVERY SQUARE FOOT OF PROBLEM AREA. FOR HEAVIER ICE BUILD UP, TOSS MORE PRODUCT AS NECESSARY AND CLUSTER A FEW TO SEVERAL TABLETS AT TIMES TO MELT CHANNELS IN THE ICE DAM. THIS WILL ALLOW WATER TO FLOW OFF ROOF AND NOT BACK UP UNDERNEATH SHINGLES. ADDITIONAL APPLICATIONS MAY BE REQUIRED BASED ON SNOW ACCUMULATION AND ICE BUILD UP.

PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES: AVOID CONTACT WITH SKIN AND EYES: WEAR PROTECTIVE GOGGLES, LONG SLEEVE SHIRT, TROUSERS, GLOVES AND BOOTS FOR ROUTINE PRODUCT USE. USE GOOD HYGEINE AND HOUSEKEEPING PRACTICES. CLOSE BUCKET TIGHTLY. STORE BUCKET IN DRY, CLEAN AREA. KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.

WARNING: AVOID STANDING UNDER TREATED AREAS. AVALANCHE OR MASS SNOW MOVEMENT MAY OCCUR. ROOFMELT IS NOT RECCOMMENDED FOR USE ON EXPOSED METAL ROOFING MATERIAL. USING ROOFMELT ON WOODEN SHINGLES MAY CAUSE TEMPORARY STAINING. ROOFMELT IS NOT A PREVENTATIVE AND IS NOT MEANT FOR USE ON DRY ROOFS. DO NOT USE ROOFMELT ON OR ABOVE NEWLY POURED CONCRETE.

FIRST AID: IF CONTACT WITH EYES, FLUSH WITH WATER FOR 15 MINUTES. CONSULT A PHYSICIAN IF SYMPTOMS PERSIST. IN CONTACT WITH SKIN, WASH WITH SOAP AND WATER. IF INGESTED, GIVE 2-4 GLASSES OF WATER. GET MEDICAL ATTENTION FOR ANY IRRITATION, INGESTION OR DISCOMFORT FROM INHALATION.

CLASS D DIVISION 2B EYE IRRITANT. DUST INHALATION MAY IRRITATE NOSE, THROAT AND LUNGS.
